1. Processional Doorway
This doorway at the south east corner of the nave, along with the first three window bays in the south nave aisle, are the oldest surviving parts of the Abbey and represent twelfth-century Transitional style of architecture with rounded arches.
Most of the rest of the nave dates from the 14th century when the Abbey was rebuilt following a fire. The transepts and crossing were restored in the late 19th century and the choir in the early 20th - both having lain in ruins following the collapse of the central tower in the early part of the 15th century.
